Vivian Marie Pond Woods, 88, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.

Vivian Marie Pond Woods, 88, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 13, 2017. She lived near family in Grapevine since 2014 due to health reasons. Vivian was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Gainesville to Wilford and Ola Mae Cook Pond. She married Jerry Lee Woods on March 4, 1949.She worked for the phone company in Gainesville until after their son was born. After the birth of their children, they moved to Paris, Texas, then to Denton and finally settle in Amarillo in 1964.

After her husband's death, she worked for Sears as a phone operator and retired from there. Her hobbies included ceramics, needlecrafts and gardening.
She was a member of Saint Stephens United Methodist Church in the bridgebuilder's class. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Lee Woods; a granddaughter; five brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include a son, Jerry Michael Woods and wife Lorelei Woods of Amarillo; a daughter, Gayle Huff and husband Gary of Shady Shores; three granddaughters; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
